“Reiki” (ray-key) is a Japanese form of energy healing that originated in the early 20th century. Energy healing is a form of alternative medicine based on the thought that we all have an unseen life force energy flowing through our bodies. It is believed that energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness. The goal of Reiki is to balance that energy flow.
As a Reiki practitioner, I use my hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of energy to support healing. During a session, you’ll typically lie down fully clothed, in a comfortable position. I may adjust the lighting, temperature and other environmental variables to make you as comfortable as possible. Next, I gently place my hands, palms down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations.
Styles and processes of reiki therapy may vary. I recommend contacting me with questions or speaking with your Reiki practitioner for questions regarding their specific approach.
Research in the field of Quantum physics shows us that energy knows no limits due to a unified energetic field that connects all things. Going beyond the limits of time and space, distance healing sends universal healing energy to you no matter where you are.
This type of healing is equally effective as an in-person session because we are working with the physical, emotional and mental aspects of an individual by accessing their energy body. The energy body can be accessed easily from anywhere and at any time and does not require you to be physically present with the practitioner.
Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) is an approach that assumes that an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma. Trauma-Informed Care recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role trauma may play in an individual’s life. Trauma-Informed Care understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma and promotes environments of healing and recovery rather than practices and services that may inadvertently re-traumatize.
I am a Trauma-Informed Reiki practitioner. If you have questions about Trauma-Informed Reiki, please contact me.
