I’m not sure if anyone else needed to read this quote but I sure did! Over the last few months, I have definitely been hibernating! In the fall of last year, my family and I made the decision to move. We have been called to the mountains of Western North Carolina for quite some time but always approached it as part of our retirement plan. We loved living in Raleigh, NC, and really loved our community. However, we kept asking ourselves, "what are we really waiting for"? So, we decided to go for it and put our house on the market. Things went fast. Within what felt like a few days, our house was sold, and we were packed and headed west.
As many of you know, moving can bring about a lot of anxiety, uncertainty, and stress. You leave behind friends, family, neighbors, familiarity, and a sense of security. There are so many moving pieces. As a small business owner in the wellness space, I often work with clients who are processing similar emotions. I encourage them to go inward, slow down and take time to nourish themselves. This is vital during periods of stress. So I did exactly that…I pressed pause on the things I could and happily took that time and energy for myself and my family. Michaela Chung was right – it was so good for my mind!!
I wouldn’t say that we are totally settled into our new space but we are adjusting nicely. Each day we receive small affirmations that this move was the right thing for us. By taking some time to hibernate, I was able to provide myself with energy, strength, and openness to fully receive our new community and new opportunities in Western North Carolina. This is the start of a new adventure for us. One that is not figured out and full of question marks but that’s ok! In fact, it's better than ok…
Thank you to all of my friends, family, and clients that have supported me during this transition. I have a really good feeling about what’s to come!!
Stay tuned…
Sending love and wellness,
Beth
